Though it's tempting to watch food and cooking shows around the clock (and they're on if you want to), here are my recommendations for the top five programs you won't want to miss. Even with Tivo, I know I miss a lot of great shows that are out there so I'd love to hear your recommendations as well.
Julia Child: Lessons With Master Chefs
This PBS series is a must see. Julia Child cooks alongside famous chefs like Charlie Trotter and Rick Bayless while discussing the finer points of gourmet cooking.
The Surreal Gourmet
food network personality Bob Blumer takes viewers on a wild ride while whipping up gourmet goodies in the most unusual ways.
Embassy Chefs
earn all about international cuisine as GoodLife TV takes viewers inside the homes of ambassadors and into embassies to see how their Master Chefs get the job done.
Epicurious
There's always something different happening on this show, found on the Travel Channel. Episodes include pairing fine food with fine beer, a visit to a hydroponics farm and a cooking lesson with well known Chef Davis Pasternak. Each episiode is packed with great cooking tips and outstanding recipes.
Chocolate with Jaques Torres
In another great offering from Food Network, Chocolate with Jacques Torres is filled with tips, tricks and recipes. This world famous pastry chef puts a whole new twist on how to use chocolate in your gourmet cooking.
