Too much leftover halloween candy?

One thing you can always count on after Halloween is having too much leftover candy. The kids shouldn't eat it all so that leaves the rest for us adults, right? Well, not if you're watching your diet or waistline. Nobody wants to throw out perfectly good Butterfinger Bars or M&Ms though, so what do you do? Here are some great ideas that you can use this year:

  • Recipe*zaar has dozens of yummy ideas from Sushi for Kids to harry potter Delight

  • Keep Kids Healthy suggests donating your leftovers to a food bank or freezing some for an unexpected treat a few weeks later

  • 7 year old Cub Scout Alex Bowman uses his leftovers to make S'Mores

  • Preschooler Today suggests inviting over some friends for a scavenger hunt and letting the guests take home the loot

  • That's My Home lists loads of recipes for cookies, pies, cheesecakes and even salads that use up all that leftover candy.

Every year I promise myself that I'll do something with all the extra candy my three children accumulate but I always seem to end up eating more than I planned. This year, I'll use some of these delicious recipes and...well, maybe eat that instead.
