The trouble with bagels...

... is that guests who don't like bagels won't like them!
Tee hee! Let me try again.
Guests who don't like chewy breads won't appreciate them.
I have a great love of crusty and chewy breads. Every chance I get, I buy them from the bakery or bake a batch at home. Bagels are one favourite and I can have them plain or with something, warm or cold.
Sometime back I was so thrilled to read McAuliflower's (of Brownie Points) recipe for mini bagels and bagel dogs. I've made the bagels plain, with herbs, with spices, with fruits and what have you. Each time I bake a batch is time well-spent. I have always been pleased with the results that I forgot that some people, such as a guest I had recently, do not like chewy breads.
Another time, I sent off a cousin with a bagel dog, which he brought to school. He later told me he didn't like the bagel dog cold because it was too tough. Huh? I eat cold bagel dogs and I'm fine with that.
Wait, am I the only one who eats cold bagels?
