The Sweet Potato Queens

The Sweet Potato Queens first entered my life about seven years ago when I bought a signed copy of The Sweet Potato Queens' Book of Love at my favorite bookshop in New Orleans, The Garden District Book Shop.

I've been smitten ever since.

Their cookbook, The Sweet Potato Queens' Big-Ass Cookbook (and Financial Planner), is one of the most entertaining and hilarious cookbooks you're likely to ever read.

Included in the cookbook are quirky financial tips, moments of side-splitting laughter, and recipes such as Corn and Peppers With Enhanced Fat Content, Yam Yomp, Mystery Mush, That Pumpkin Stuff That Dorothy Makes, Grilled Bologna Po-Boy, gorilla Casserole, Twinkie Pie, Whatchamacallit Chicken, and the famous Chocolate Stuff.
