The California Strawberry Festival were just held this year in Oxnard -- the largest strawberry producer in California. The California Strawberry Festival is an agricultural fair based on the prime produce (strawberries), with festivities that includes a parade, tournaments, live shows, music, arts and crafts.

Apart from the peak of the sweet produce, the berries at the California Strawberry Festival 2010 can be found in several forms of confectionery, bringing in the cooking and even art element to the festival. The strawberries can be found covered in whipped cream, incorporated in various forms of cakes, pastries and jams and even becoming part of the decorations.

For cooks, there is the 'Build Your Own Strawberry Shortcake' event and several cook out challenges. While others can just look at the art and craft exhibitions.
