Talking Turkey

Gone are the days of the simple roasted, stuffed turkey for Thanksgiving.
Now the turkey choices are endless. Everywhere you look there are deep fried turkeys, brined turkeys, smoked turkeys, bacon wrapped turkeys and the fabulous mélange of turkey, duck and chicken, the Turducken.

So, if you feel like trying a new turkey this year, here are a few ideas.
Jimbo has detailed instructions on how to deep fry a turkey.
How about a Bacon Wrapped Turkey with Pear Cider Gravy? Personally, I'm a big fan of anything wrapped in bacon!
Direct from Louisisana, try the famous de-boned chicken stuffed within a de-boned duck stuffed within a de-boned turkey, Turducken. The Cajun Grocer offers several different stuffing options, all of which look wonderful.
This recipe for smoked turkey won't put you to sleep!
A turkey sitting in apple cider and sage for a couple of days, then roasted, make this recipe for Cider Brined and Glazed Turkey look so delicious.
