If in case you are planning to open your own restaurant, there are a lot of things to consider.

However, I think going into the restaurant business is a good thing. Mainly because everyone eats. If the food you cooked for the day didn't all sell out? Then you and your family can eat the leftovers. Right?

The problems you just have to consider in the beginning is getting a strategic location, widening your market and deciding on the theme (and menu!) of your restaurant. You have to make sure there is a market for the menu you will decide on. You don't want to end up with meals that nobody will order.
