Morsels of Info

This weekend is packed with food and wine events from all over the globe. Here are a few highlights.
One of my favorite sea creatures is being celebrated this weekend in Port Angeles, Washington at the Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival. Dungeness crab is one of the sweetest, most flavorful crabs you'll ever taste! The events this weekend include a crab feed and an area winery tour.

More seafood in the spotlight on Sunday at The Old Harbour Fish and Bammy Festival in Kingston, Jamaica.
The 17th Annual Virginia Wine and Garlic Festival is on this weekend at Rebec Vineyards in Amherst, Virginia. The event includes a garlic costume contest, a garlic cook-off and plenty of live music, food and wine to enjoy.
Delicacies from more than 70 restaurants are on offer this Saturday and Sunday at the Taste of Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia. Other offerings include food demonstrations from celebrity chefs, culinary vacation giveaways and live entertainment.
The Bidwells Norwich & Norfolk Food Festival in Norwich, England, begins on Friday and runs until October 21. The event includes food demonstrations and tastings, recipe swapping, and celebrates local food, local restaurants and local talent.
The town of Gulf Shores, Alabama, is hosting their 36th Annual National Shrimp Festival this Thursday through Sunday.

A variety of seafood and traditional Jamaican dishes are available and visitors can participate in cooking demonstrations of these dishes. Make this a day for family fun as there will be entertainment and storytelling sessions for adults and children.

The Festival is one of the nation's premier outdoor festivals featuring over 300 vendors that offer fine art, arts and crafts, a retail marketplace and of course, SHRIMP!!

And is the Oyster Shucking Festival in Shelton, Washington! Where you can see shuckers shuck 40 oysters in 2 minutes! I'm sure that there is tabasco, lemon and crackers on hand for you.

Riana, The Oyster Festival was last weekend! I wrote about it last Friday. Have you ever been? I wish I had gone when I lived in Seattle.

Yes, I have been four or five times. Opps, I should have scrolled further down. You have a lot of posts here!
The Festival is so much fun. It used to be around the end of October, I bet they moved it up to the beginning to have better weather. Oh, I even had a tshirt from one of the first ones... wonder where that shirt is? Its a classic by now.
