Tomatoes are still available, but they're starting to fade. Now is the time for making Fried Green Tomatoes and Tomato Chutney!
Bright orange pumpkin and yellow squash are now available as are ruby red beets, leafy green kale and crunchy watercress. Earthy mushrooms of all shapes and sizes and Savoy cabbage are perfect right now.
Crispy apples and juicy pears are everywhere you look, as are dark, purple figs, garnet colored pomegranates and golden quince, one of my favorite fruits!
Berries, plums and melons are still available, but slowly disappearing, so enjoy them while you can.
