Morsels of Info

Not too much going on this weekend around the globe...but here are a few items of interest.
Around sixty organic food and drink producers will be offering tempting, seasonal tastings at the Aberystwyth Christmas Food & Drink Fayre this Saturday.

If you're in the general vicinity of Tanjay City, Negros Oriental, on the islands of the Philippines, head on over to the Bod-Bod Festival. The event runs all weekend and looks like great fun!
In Český Krumlov, Czech Republic, there is a Christmas Market this weekend offering music, Father Christmas and gingerbread house decorating. The snow covered town is a beautiful backdrop for the celebration.
Here in France there is le Petit Marché du Gros Souper in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. This Provençal Christmas market offers traditional, regional ingredients for sale as well as gifts for friends and family.

The festival gives emphasis to this native delicacy made of glutinous rice, coconut milk, sugar and salt. It features the biggest Bod-bod that would weigh as much as eighty kilos and requires ten persons to prepare the delicacy, and the smallest Bod-bod that would come served inside a matchbox. Bod-bod making contest gives the Tanjayanons the chance to show their natural expertise on the art of making the delicacy.

I want to go to that Christmas market in St. Remy!! The normal market's one of my favorites, so I can't imagine how special things must be this time of year. Great post - so fun to know these things.

Figs, I've never been to that market, but I love Saint Rémy so I'm sure it is very special. Thanks for coming over to read Like to Cook, too!
