Medium Raw By Anthony Bourdain

If there is one celebrity chef I truly love, it's Anthony Bourdain over at the Discovery Travel and Living Channel. Simply because he says stuff like he sees stuff in a brutally honest way.
He doesn't go around kissing people in their a**es! If he hates the food he is served, then he will really say he hates it. At least he is honest. Unlike others who only have nice things to say, even when things aren't so nice anymore.
Anyways...Anthony Bourdain has a new book. It's called Medium Raw: A Bloody Valentine to the World of Food and the People Who Cook.
Bourdain at one point describes himself as:
"a loud, egotistical, one-note [obscenity] who's been cruising on the reputation of one obnoxious, over-testosteroned book for way too long and who should just shut the [obscenity] up."

I'm no foodie, but even I know who Anthony Bourdain is. Of course, I know him as the guy that digs street foods all over the world, particular in Southeast Asia. But I would've never guessed he had something or anything to say about society writ large. He does, and he aligns himself in chapters like: The Rich Eat Differently..., Lower Education, etc. He writes well, and if you're wondering if he writes a little "too well" (i.e. he has a ghost writer), he doesn't; he used to write novels.
