Late August Food and Wine Festivals

Here's a small sample of the events this weekend:

Often chosen as one of the best festivals in America, the Barnesville Potato Days in Barnesville, Minnesota offers two days of fun and festivities for tater lovers.

The town of Bodega Bay, California, famous as the film location of Alfred Hitchcock's, The Birds, is celebrating their 14th Annual Bodega Seafood, Art and Wine Festival this weekend.

Featuring the best of California's wineries, breweries, artists, and craftspeople. This event also features outstanding regional and national musicians, and of course, a delicious selection of seafood, a kid's funzone, environmental exhibits, and other fun and new aspects of the festival make this an event not to be missed.

Little, yellow, juicy mirabelle plums have their own festival in Metz, France, now in its 58th year. The Mirabelle Festival runs from August 22-31 and offers live music, the election of Miss Lorraine, Queen of the Mirabelle, food markets and a parade.

The residents of Lahaina, on the island of Maui in Hawaii, invite you to come celebrate the famous Maui onion this Saturday at the 19th Annual Maui Onion Festival.

There are onions. And then there are Maui Kula Onions. Believed by many to be the sweetest onions in the whole wide world, these glorious bulbs are the star of our annual festival.

The Rombola Wine Festival in Fragata, Greece in on this Friday through Sunday, offering festival goers a chance to taste local, Kefalonian food and wine.
