Crackers are more than just a cheese delivery method. Some are sublime enough to be eaten plain while others are unobtrusive enough to let the topping of choice shine through. Let's look at a few varieties of crackers and which foods they complement.

Carr's Table Water Crackers - These light, wafery crackers are can be found in virtually every major market in the nation. Carr's recently began marketing these in assorted flavors like Cracked Red Pepper, Toasted Sesame Seed, and Roasted Garlic and Herb. Carr's Crackers are the perfect compliment to strong cheeses since but aren't good for dipping since they crumble easily.

Star Ridge Hors D'Oeuvre & Cocktail Crackers - Available in some of the most delicious flavors, there's sure to be something for everyone in this assortment. Their small olive oil infused cracker is perfect for scooping up some herbed feta and the garlic shallot flavor is ideal for pate.

Stonewall Kitchens Sea Salt Crackers - Looking for the perfect accompaniment to your homemade jam or chutney. Well, here you go. This light cracker has a dusting of sea salt on top but it's delicate flavor won't get in the way of whatever topping you choose.

American Vintage Wine Biscuits - These yummy treats stand on their own and are fantastic right out of the box.

Saltines - Maybe the soda crackers we grew up with aren't exactly considered gourmet but everyone needs a little comfort food now and then, right?
