Friday kicks off the 10 day Taste of Barbados Food Festival with wine tasting, rum tasting, chef's dinners, farmer's and craft markets, gourmet food events and neighborhood street limes. Grab some rum punch and get tasting!

Pumpkins are being celebrated in Edmonton, Kentucky this Saturday at the 26th Annual Metcalfe County Pumpkin Festival. The festival includes a 5K fun run, a parade, a car show and a dance contest.

The 21st Annual Avocado Festival is a three day event in Carpinteria, California. This has grown into one of the largest events in the State, with live music and entertainment, and a contest for "Best Guacamole."

The King Valley Vignerons Association in The King Valley, Victoria, Australia, is gathering local wines together on Saturday for the Shed Wine Show.

Local growers and emerging wineries are encouraged to show their wines. This show is a unique event in that all prizes are based on the judging done by the public.

Oysters are the main event on both coasts. Chincoteague, Virginia has the Chincoteague Oyster Festival on Saturday with all you can eat oysters and oysters prepared in every way imaginable. On the West coast, Shelton, Washington celebrates oysters all weekend at the 26th Annual OysterFest, complete with an oyster shucking contest and seafood cook-off.

The East Midlands Food and Drink Festival runs all weekend in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, England. This year's theme is, "Make it Local."

The East Midlands Food and Drink Festival, organised by the Melton Mowbray Food Partnership, is held annually on the first weekend of October (6/7th for 2007 and 4/5th for 2008). With over 200 exhibitors it is the largest regional food festival in the country with a wide variety of food and drink on offer. In addition to celebrity chefs and other entertainment, the festival organises an exhibition on a theme connected with food.

The Arkansas Apple Festival is on all weekend in Lincoln, Arkansas. There will be a parade, dancing, live music and an apple core throwing contest. Apples are also the theme in Bayfield, Wisconsin at the 46th Annual Bayfield Apple Festival. Some of the numerous events include a Venetian boat parade, apple pie tasting, a fish boil and a kid's carnival. This Festival has been voted one of the Top Ten Autumn Festivals in North America by the Society of American Travel Writers.
