Fig newtons. Those soft, squishy cookies filled with sticky, sweet fig jam, have been a favorite of both children and adults alike for generations.
They are so loved and adored that they have apparently been granted their very own holiday!

Yes, today, January 16, is the official American holiday, Fig Newton Day. Mark it in your calendars so you're prepared with a package of Fig Newtons and a big glass of milk to wash them down with next year!
