Dark Chocolate Consumption Up

I don't know why Reuters classified this under Oddly Enough. Gourmet and dark chocolate sales are expected to rise even more because they are perceived to be good for the health. More and more, these kinds of chocolates are available in stores, leading to higher consumption.

Better chocolate quality is good news to everyone. However, I would like to caution the naive amongst us to not immediately jump into the dark-chocolates-are-healthy frame of mind with abandon. True, dark chocolates contain more antioxidants but eating them as a confection also means they contain sugar, nuts, dried fruit, among other things. The more chocolates consumed, the more sugar and fat eaten. Fats in chocolate is also to be considered.

Well, to put things into perspective, if you had to choice between a sundae and a dark chocolate bar, choose the chocolate. But you can choose to forego either to keep that waist trim. But if I were to choose, I'd take small pieces of both and share the rest with friends. Winning solution, isn't it?
