They're sweet. They're fun. They're adorable. They bring back fond childhood memories of birthday parties and special days.

There are some 300 gourmet cupcake bakeries scattered across America. There aren't quite that many blogs dedicated to this special little cake, but there are a few.

The first cupcake blog I ever stumbled across was the Cupcake Bakeshop by Chockylit. The cupcakes here are creative and fun, and the recipes are well thought out with helpful photos. Her recipe for Lavender Cream Filled Cupcake with Citrus Cream Cheese Frosting makes me swoon.

Three cupcake devotees have banded together to create Cupcakes Take The Cake. Nichelle, Rachel and Alizinha keep us informed of what is going on in the world of cupcakes.
