The food-wine-and-travel writer Matthew Gavin Frank has recently released his memoir: BAROLO.
BAROLO is about the author's illegal work in the Piemontese Italian food and wine industry. A review of the book appeared in the April 2010 issue of Wine Spectator Magazine.
Matthew Gavin Frank grew up on microwaved food and saturated fat. His research on food led him to Barolo, Italy where, living out of a tent in the garden of a local farmhouse, he resolved to learn about Italian food from the ground up. BAROLO is Frank's account of those six months.
Barolo is a region in Italy known for its food and wine (also called Barolo).
You can read an excerpt of the book here (pdf file).
The book is also available on Amazon($16.47), Barnes and Noble($24.95) and Powells($17.50).
