Albino pumpkins are all the rage
Filed in archive News on October 29, 2005

CNN reports that sales of white pumpkins have really taken off this year. Though they've been around for a while, they are just now beginning to catch on as a Fall must-have item. Though white outside, the flesh inside is the traditional orange and reportedly taste the same as orange pumpkins as well.
The strangest quote I've seen about these gourds comes from editor-in-chief of Country Living magazine, Nancy Soriano:
White has become a strong decorating element in people's homes. They might have white pottery, sofas, and white pumpkins add a very iconic look.
I think trying to match your groceries to your living room couch is carrying things just a little too far, don't you?

Never heard of them....White might look pretty, but I would miss the orange. I'll bet they look funny carved in the traditional way. Match my couch? If I couldn't find a white pumpkin, do I buy a new couch? Alrrrriiight!

Strange... But interesting. I'm just wondering if the taste is a bit strange too, hehe.
